Flower PosyThe Outfits..

The Bride

I wore an ivory lace fitted full-length dress with a kick-pleat at the back flowing into a small train, long sleeves, and a round neck.

On my head I wore an alice band with peach silk roses and green leaves, and an ivory waist-length veil. I had accessories of an old pearl hair barrette borrowed from my Grandmother, pearl dropper earrings, a short pearl necklace, and a pearl bracelet.

I wore ivory satin flat shoes, and a wonderful hand-crocheted white thread garter with peach and blue ribbon threaded through, made for me by my good friend Rae French - List Magistrate for the Crochet Partners List.

I felt like a princess, and everyone agreed that the dress looked great - see what you think.

The Bridesmaid

The bridesmaid was my 8-year old niece, who wore a dress made by the skilled hand of her mother - my sister-in-law. She had a full-length dress in terracotta polyester with a dupion-silk efect slub, with a cumberbund of ivory polyester, short puff sleeves, round neck trimmed with small silk roses, and a gathered hemline with a lace and net petticoat just showing underneath.

On her head she wore an alice band made with ivory and terracotta silk roses. She had matching ivory satin flat shoes, with a slightly different front shaping to mine.

She looked fabulous in the dress, and was thrilled that she got to keep it! The outfit cost around £50 to make in total.

The Groom and the Best Man

The groom and Best Man wore matching hired suits. These consisted of black jacket, grey striped dress trousers, black shoes, white shirt, peach cravat, silver grey and peach paisley design waistcoat, and a white carnation buttonhole.

They both had their long hair tied back with a matching length of grey silk, and both looked very handsome!
