YARN DESCRIPTION:
Fine acrylic boucle or similar (see GAUGE DATA); approx. 200g (240g, 350g) (7oz [9oz, 12oz])
GAUGE DATA:
Body knitted by Bond on keyplate 3
Edging crocheted on 4.5mm hook
Gauge (stocking st over 4 in = 10 cm): 16.0 st by 20.0 rows
FINISHED MEASUREMENTS (ins) :
Chest: 32.2 (38.4, 48.9) ... with Moderate fit
Front neck width: 2.9 (3.3, 3.9)
Armhole: 16.2 (17.4, 19.7)
Front neck depth: 3.1 (3.6, 4.1)
Body length: 17.5 (18.6, 20.1)
Top neck width: 5.8 (6.5, 7.8)
Sleeve length: 1.0 (1.0, 1.3)
NOTE: At most, 76 (88, 110) needles are required to knit this garment.
BACK:
1. Cast on 68 (80, 100) sts in WY, using open edge method and keyplate 3. Knit
6 rows, ending COR. Change to MY.
2. Knit 46 (50, 52) rows.
3. Cap sleeves. Cast on 4 (4, 5) sts for cap sleeves at the beg of the next 2
rows (Total 76 [88, 110] sts).
4. Knit 40 (42, 48) more rows. Total 88 (94, 102) rows.
5. Back neck. Thread centre 24 (26, 32) sts onto WY. 26 (31, 39) sts each side. Knit 6 rows
with WY.
FRONT:
1-2 Follow steps 1, 2 as for back. COR.
3. Armhole. Cast on cap sleeve at both ends, as for back. Continue until
72 (76, 80) rows total, with 76 (88, ?110 sts remaining.
4. Shape neck. COR. Thread centre 12 (14, 16) sts to WY. 32 (37, 47) sts each side.
5. Right neck. LH needles in HP. Dec 1 st at neck edge every row 6 (6, 8) times,
until 26 (31, 39) sts remain. Knit 10 (12, 14) rows even. Total 88 (94, 102) rows.
6. Cut yarn, leaving a long end to graft shoulders. Knit 6 rows WY. Place sts in HP.
7. Left neck. COL. Work as for right neck, reversing shapings.
BACK AND FRONT RIBBING: NO RIBBING.
1. Pick up 68 (80, 100) sts. Cast off loosely.
SHOULDER SEAMS:
Graft shoulder seams on 26 (31, 39) sts.
CAP SLEEVE RIBBING: NO RIBBING.
1. Pick up 70 (74, 85) sts. Cast off loosely.
FINISHING:
1. Sew side seams using invisible seam. Use backstitch to sew remaining
seams.
2. Crochet an edging around the neck, sleeves and hem using a 4.5mm hook
if desired.
3. Sew in all loose ends.
