Subject: [BOND] All about beads on the bond

I used beads on some of my millennium squares. Mostly I put 2000 in the
middle of a square in white beads. A lot of the other square exchangers
wanted to know how to do them so I wrote this up. Hope it helps you all.

Beads are REALLLLLLY easy. Just knit a row you want to put them on. Get a
crochet hook small enough to go through the beads, usually a steel kind that
you use for the crochet thread. a size 6 works pretty good but any size that
goes through the bead works. Now thread the beads on the crochet hook and
stick the hook through the stitch you want to put the bead on and remove it
from needle. Pull the yarn through the bead and put the stitch back on the
needle. Now knit the row. TA DA! you just put a bead on.

I use pony beads.
The ones all the kids are using to make keychains and stuff. they come in
tons of colors and are cheap. They come in 3 sizes. 7mm, 5mm, and 3mm. all
of them will work but the bigger ones have to be spaced apart because they
are so big. The little ones look really dainty but they don't cover all the
stitch so it wouldn't be good for something like the 2000 as the yarn would
show too much. Just like in the three bears, the middle size is JUST RIGHT.
You can get these beads anywhere, Wal mart, Ames, Jo anne, Michaels, etc.

If you "write" something with the beads it has to be
upside down and backwards. I always do it on a transparency and turn it over.

Hope this helped you.
