Ragg Hat and Scarf:-

Materials:- 5 - 100 gram balls of ragg or worsted weight yarn will make a
set of hat, mittens, socks, and scarf. Pattern only being given for hat and
scarf with adaptions for mittens included.

2 - 100 gram balls of white ragg or worsted weight yarn.
1 - 100 gram ball of contrasting colour.

My personal colour choices here were grey ragg with white and contrasted
with deep burgundy.

Tension:- 20 stitches and 28 rows = 4 inches on Keyplate 3.

Hat:-

Using closed edge cast on.
Cast on 100 stitches.
Knit to row counter 80.
Place every other stitch on adjacent needle.
Knit 12 more rows.
Place every other stitch on adjacent needle.
Knit 12 more rows.
Cast off loosely.

Rehang with right side facing and
using keyplate # 2
Knit 12 rows white.
Knit 4 rows burgundy
Knit 12 rows white.
Latch up every third stitch and cast off loosely.

Make a twisted cord at least 14 inches long and two tassels for male or pom
poms for female.

Seam side seams, flip the band back so that the right side is out.
Turn the top lace hole to the inside and matching the lace holes on the
lower half thread a twisted cord through. Pull tightly and add a tassel or
pompom, this allows for breathing room for hikers, a pony tail through for
the teens.

Scarf:-

Using keyplate # 3 and white worsted weight wool cast on with closed edge 60
stitches.
Knit 12 rows in white.
Knit 4 rows in burgundy.
Knit 12 rows in white.
Change to ragg or worsted weight wool
Knit a total of 300 rows
Knit 12 rows white
Knit 4 rows burgundy
Knit 12 rows white
Cast off loosley.
Fringe both ends with the ragg or worsted weight wool.
- --This is a very long and comfortable scarf.
- ---------------------------

Adaptions for mittens and socks to match would be as follows:-

using your favourite worsted weight pattern for socks and mittens do the
ribbing as such.
Knit 12 rows white
Knit 4 rows - burgundy
Knit 12 rows white.

For socks. I would also make the burgundy heel and toe.

Have a great harvest month.
Linda
