KIM - sketch the designs that you like and knit the sweaters plain, then add
them with an invisible stitch afterwards, that goes for anytype of
embelishment, including the ones with suede etc., as suede does not ravel, a
great time as well to practise some felting of boiled wools and yarns.  Make
sure that you add some sort of stabilizer under neath before you start so
that the fabric is stable and will not move.

If doing the waste canvas I do the same, add a stabilizer, baste the waste
canvas to the top, and then find the centres and mark them in a different
colour thread and work from there out.  Well worth every minute of it, and
most of the books show how to do it on sweatshirts, only thing with knits
you do need a stabilizer and not the water soluble ones, that wash away, as
this will have to stay as knits have a weave that will stretch.

Last year I made a color grid pullover sweater from the BC11 book.  I made it
in dark and light greens and rose with Cleckheaton Crepe, but instead of
ribbing the bottom, I crocheted a lacey hem.  It turned out really nice.
