Hello All,
I have a tip of sorts...I am finishing my first real sweater..The
Fairisle Vest for the beginners book...For my Daughter....I don't hand
knit...So I decided to do the ribbing as it says to in the book on the
machine...WOW is that little tool a pain to work with latching up all
those ribs...I got the brillient idea from my 3 year old to "try this
mommy"...She hands me a crochet hook....I looked at it and decided why
not give it a try...I found a size H...Not sure which one she gave me
but it was huge....Anyway that is sooo much easier to do the latchups
with and quicker....Took me 1/2 the time doing the front as it did the
back...Worked out just great...Hopes this helps some of you out
there...Gina

Hi all,
I haven't used the crochet hook like Gina suggested, but I use one all
the time to do the crochet cast-on instead of the latch tool. I find a J
hook is just the right size to make the loops for the spacing between the
needles on the ISM.

Hi Debbie Jo - when you removed the sweater from the machines you let go of
the tension and tha is why they are now baggy. Go into the back with a
latch tool or crochet hook, tool of the day, and starting with the longer
floats crochet or ladder up to the top and then catch and stitch them down.

A lot of the pros knit this way when they are using finer yarns,
just try and make sure you do not overdo it when you are crocheting them up
for example putting them to close together....you will know and to be safe
put the last stitch on a safety pin, turn it over, stretch it a bit and see
what you haveif you are happy, secure the ends.
Happy Bonding,
Linda
