Subject: [BOND] Beret instructions

Ok, here it is. Just as a warning note, I didn't do this on the Bond
but since I used to use one I included the changes necessary for a
Bond. I tend to take short cuts when writing patterns so if anyone
doesn't understand it let me know.

Beret (bulky machine)

Redheart Worsted Weight Yarn
Tension 5 (Bonders use KP#3)
Guage 15sts & 23rows = 4"

Cast on 101 sts with WY
Knit 15-20 rows of WY to allow room for decreases at top
With MY K26R (any intarsia or patterns can be worked in this area)
Row 27 inc 6 sts evenly spaced over row, K2R
Row 29 inc 7 sts evenly spaced over row, K3R
Row 32 dec to 107 sts K3R
Row 35 dec to 101 sts K3R
Row 38 dec to 94 sts K3R
Row 41 dec to 86 sts K3R
Row 44 dec to 75 sts K3R
Row 47 dec to 68 sts K3R
Row 50 dec to 60 sts K3R
Row 53 dec to 54 sts K3R Change to tension #3 after these 3Rows
(Bonders might try KP#2)
Row 56 dec to 40 sts K2R
Row 58 dec to 28 sts K2R
Row 60 dec to 14 sts K2R
Row 62 dec to 7 sts K1R
Cut MY leaving 18" tail, weave through sts still on needles and remove
from machine, draw tight. You will use this for sewing the seam later.

Using MY sts from WY place those 101 sts onto 67 needles, you will have
33 needles with 2 sts on them. Keep on tensions #3

 (Bonders should use
KP#3 for this ribbing, remove every other stitch across row, K12R, latch
up
empty needles, be careful not to miss a doubled stitch).

K12R 1X1 Rib, bind off back stitch technique.
Sew seam and hat is finished.
